DONUT Represented the Croatian Drift Scene at Red Bull Showrun Zagreb

Formula 1, drifting, touring cars, motorcycles and some of Croatia’s leading motorsport representatives took over the streets of Zagreb as Red Bull Showrun delivered a spectacular day of speed, sound and tyre smoke.

DONUT was invited to the event as a guest and representative of the Croatian drift scene.

As part of the programme, we displayed one of the competition cars that had taken part in our 2026 season, giving visitors an opportunity to see a purpose-built drift car up close and discover more about the discipline and the scene developing around it.

Before the official start of the main programme, DONUT driver Ivan Markić also took to the streets in his Toyota GT86, joining drivers from several other motorsport disciplines in the demonstration runs through Ulica grada Vukovara.

Croatian Motorsport Took Centre Stage

Red Bull Showrun provided prominent Croatian drivers with a platform to present their cars, disciplines and achievements to a new and much wider audience.

Alongside Ivan Markić in the Toyota GT86, the demonstration programme featured Žarko Knego in a Hyundai Elantra N TCR, Matija Jurišić in the Peugeot 308 TCR with which he secured his second European championship title, and Domagoj Pereković in a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Together, they represented different branches of Croatian motorsport—from drifting and touring car racing to European hill climb competition.

Although their cars were built for different environments and forms of racing, their appearance on the same street course showed the quality, variety and technical level of motorsport currently present in Croatia.

For DONUT, the invitation represented another opportunity to bring drifting closer to a broader audience and position the discipline alongside other established forms of motorsport.

A Competition Car from the DONUT Season on Display

Visitors were also able to see one of the competition cars from the 2026 DONUT season displayed as part of the event.

Away from the noise and speed of the demonstration runs, the exhibition provided a closer look at the technology, preparation and engineering behind a modern drift car.

Every competition car on the DONUT grid is the result of countless hours of development, testing, repairs and setup work. Presenting one of those cars at an event of this scale allowed us to show that drifting is much more than controlled slides and tyre smoke.

During the demonstration programme before the official start of the event, Ivan Markić represented DONUT behind the wheel of his Toyota GT86.

The closed street course offered a setting completely different from a traditional drift track. Surrounded by buildings and thousands of spectators, every engine rev, transition and cloud of tyre smoke became part of a unique city-centre spectacle.

Sharing the course with Žarko Knego, Matija Jurišić, Domagoj Pereković and other Croatian motorsport representatives gave the audience an opportunity to experience several disciplines in quick succession.

For many visitors, it was also their first opportunity to see a drift car performing at close range.

Red Bull Brought a Global Motorsport Spectacle to Zagreb

The main programme featured an Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car driven through the streets of Zagreb, accompanied by performances from internationally recognised Red Bull athletes and vehicles.

The Red Bull Driftbrothers delivered their signature combination of precision, power and dense tyre smoke, while Mad Mike, Sam Sam and Arūnas Gibieža added their own distinctive performances to the programme.

Each part of the Showrun brought a different form of motorsport to the audience, but drifting once again produced some of the loudest reactions of the day.

The proximity of the cars, rapid transitions, engine sound and smoke made the drift performances an immediate spectacle—even for visitors who had never previously attended a drift competition.

A New Audience for Croatian Motorsport

Events such as Red Bull Showrun are important because they bring motorsport out of specialised venues and place it directly in front of a wider public.

Many spectators who came to see a Formula 1 car also had the opportunity to discover leading Croatian drivers, local racing projects and disciplines they might not otherwise encounter.

For Croatian motorsport, that kind of exposure creates new opportunities to attract audiences, partners and future competitors.

It also shows that Croatia has drivers and teams capable of standing alongside major international motorsport names and delivering a programme worthy of an event of this scale.

Drifting Remains the Ultimate Crowd Spectacle

Red Bull Showrun Zagreb brought an authentic motorsport spectacle to the city streets and gave thousands of visitors an opportunity to experience some of the world’s most exciting competition cars at close range.

It also demonstrated once again why drifting holds such a unique place in live motorsport.

Few disciplines connect with spectators as quickly. The combination of speed, proximity, precision and unpredictability creates a performance that can be understood and enjoyed immediately, regardless of how closely someone follows motorsport.

The reactions to the Red Bull Driftbrothers and the other drift performances confirmed what the DONUT audience already knows well: when the cars go sideways, the crowd comes alive.

For DONUT, taking part in Red Bull Showrun Zagreb was an opportunity to represent the Croatian drift scene, stand alongside leading names from other disciplines and introduce our work to a completely new audience.

It was also another important step in positioning drifting as a serious part of Croatian motorsport—and one of its greatest live spectacles.
