MEET FOR SPEED: CREATING CROATIA’S FIRST FESTIVAL OF SPEED

When an event takes place for the first time, there is no previous aftermovie to show the audience what to expect.

There are no photographs from earlier editions, no familiar format and no visitor experiences on which to build a new campaign.

There is only an idea — and a promise that something worth paying attention to is coming.

That was the starting point for Meet for Speed, Croatia’s first festival of speed, held from 3 to 5 July 2026 at the Grobnik circuit.

Our role was not limited to filming the event once it began. We helped shape its visual identity, introduce an entirely new concept to the audience, cover everything happening on location throughout the festival and preserve the complete story through the official aftermovie.

HOW DO YOU PRESENT AN EVENT THE AUDIENCE HAS NEVER EXPERIENCED?

Meet for Speed was conceived as a multi-day celebration of speed, cars and motorsport culture at one of Croatia’s best-known racing circuits.

As this was the festival’s inaugural edition, much of the communication first had to explain what Meet for Speed was and why people should make the trip to Grobnik.

The first step was therefore not filming, but establishing a recognisable visual direction for the festival.

We developed the key visual, the event’s graphic identity and a range of promotional materials designed to connect the different parts of the programme into one clear and consistent story.

That foundation then shaped the rest of the content — from the television commercial and pre-event promotional assets to the videos produced during the festival itself.

FOUR DAYS OF PRODUCTION AT GROBNIK

A five-person production crew worked on the project, with filming and production at the Grobnik circuit taking place over four days.

Working around an active racetrack requires constant coordination. The programme takes place across multiple areas, cars and visitors are always moving, and some of the most important moments happen only once.

Before production began, we therefore needed to define the priorities, camera positions and the way the crew would move between the track, paddock and the festival’s other areas.

At the same time, we were producing content for two very different purposes.

Short-form videos had to be completed and published while the event was still taking place, while footage for the aftermovie needed to be collected systematically so that it could later be shaped into one complete story.

REAL-TIME CONTENT WHILE THE FESTIVAL WAS STILL UNFOLDING

The purpose of the real-time production was to bring the atmosphere of Grobnik to people following the event through social media and to build further interest in the new festival concept.

During the project, we produced ten short-form videos adapted for digital platforms.

The content was filmed, edited and prepared for publication directly from the venue while the track activities and the rest of the festival programme were still underway.

This way of working leaves little room for delay.

A video capturing a current moment needs to be published while that moment is still relevant. The production process therefore needs to move quickly, while every finished piece must still feel consistent with the festival’s wider visual identity.

The real-time videos allowed Meet for Speed to communicate through more than pre-produced announcements.

As the festival unfolded, the audience could see what the event actually looked like, who had arrived at Grobnik and what kind of atmosphere was developing on location.

THE AFTERMOVIE AS THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THE FIRST EDITION

Once the festival was over, all of the collected footage had to be brought together in the official aftermovie.

Unlike short-form videos, which capture individual moments, an aftermovie needs to connect the entire event.

It had to present the cars, driving, visitors and atmosphere while also creating a clear picture of what Meet for Speed intends to become in the future.

For the first edition of an event, this type of film carries additional value.

It is not only a record of what happened. It becomes the festival’s first substantial visual document and an important foundation for the communication of its next edition.

ONE PROJECT ACROSS MULTIPLE FORMATS

Throughout our collaboration with Meet for Speed, we produced:

  • the official aftermovie

  • ten real-time short-form videos 1 2 3

  • a television commercial

  • the festival key visual

  • the event’s graphic design

  • promotional materials for multiple communication channels

Every asset was developed as part of the same visual and creative system.

The identity established before the event continued through the festival’s social media communication, the content produced on location and the final aftermovie.

The project therefore did not end with a single video.

It covered the entire journey — from the first introduction of a new festival to the content that will support its future growth.

THE STORY CONTINUES

The first edition of Meet for Speed marked the beginning of a new automotive event at the Grobnik circuit.

At the same time, it established the visual, creative and production foundations on which future editions can continue to build.
